What I love most is now, AFTER the vote to NOT have witnesses, these Republicans are saying (see Marco Rubio) what this lying corrupt fraud of a President did was impeachable. However, he should get a pass because to throw him out would be more divisive to the country. Wha…? Or, Lamar Alexander (who is not running again as he is retiring) admitting what the President did was wrong but does not think it impeachable. Tacitly admitting he has no interest in hearing or seeing any further evidence which could persuade him that what the President did was in fact impeachable. In other words, he only has an interest in enough evidence to plausibly vote to NOT impeach. Or, Lisa Murkowski, voting to not hear witnesses because the Senate, as an institution, has failed. Again, Wha…..? Well, Lisa, you incredibly intellectual, deep thinker you, then vote to hear all witnesses. Your vote would’ve helped to rectify its failure. The Senate’s “failure”, you stupid person, was to conduct a “trial” without any witnesses or power to subpoena documents or supporting evidence for or against the Reprobate in Chief. And finally, John Roberts, the Chief justice of the Supreme Court of the United States, what an incredibly weak, uninterested administration of evidence and justice. To sit there and allow such malpractice of justice to occur without so much as the lifting of his pinky to exert the constitutional authority granted him is…, well, grounds for his own impeachment. This notion that he just sits there and does nothing defies the very purpose of his position in a trial. He is the “presiding officer” of the trial. He could’ve called for the testimony of the direct witnesses. McConnell could’ve overruled him with a vote, providing he could get it. Roberts’s assertion of his authority would’ve/could’ve given pause to vacillating Republicans. He will forever be known as the judge who oversaw the greatest sham trial in this country to date. Yesterday’s vote made this country look like a corrupt 2 bit, tin pot banana republic. This is what is wrought with Trump. This is what we get. The corrupt liar in chief has spent the better part of the last 3 years complaining about hoax’s, witch hunts, scams, and shams. Well, the greatest sham has been perpetrated on us, the American people, who supposedly hold the real power in this country – the vote. We’ll see. We will see. Providing this sleazebag of a President doesn’t find someone else today, tomorrow or the next day to help him cheat his way to a win in November.
